Department for social development:
In December 1999 the Department for Social Development was established as part of the Northern Ireland Executive.
It has strategic responsibility for urban regeneration, community and voluntary sector development, social legislation, housing, social security benefits, pensions and child support.
Around 7,600 people are employed by the Department, approximately 91% of whom are located in the Social Security Agency and Child Maintenance and Enforcement Division. Public Expenditure allocation for 2008/2009 is £5,233.3 million, including £4,448.2 million Social Security Benefit Provision.

Department of Education
The Department of Education is responsible for the central administration of all aspects of education and related services in Northern Ireland - excepting the higher and further education sector, responsibility for which is within the remit of the Department for Employment and Learning.

Southern Education & Library Board:
The Southern Education and Library Board serves the district council areas of Armagh; Banbridge; Cookstown; Craigavon; Dungannon & South Tyrone; Newry & Mourne. It spans 1,450 square miles, with a total population of approximately 332,000 people; including 75,000 pupils and with over 137,900 registered library users.

Craigavon Borough Council:
The Council spends £21 million providing a wide range of quality services to the 86,000 people living in the area - evidence in itself that the Council is involved in many aspects of the Borough.

the National Lottery:

International Fund for Ireland:
The International Fund for Ireland was established as an independent international organization by the British and Irish Governments in 1986. With contributions from the United States of America, the European Union, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the total resources committed to the Fund to date amount to £576m / €849m, funding over 5,700 projects across the island of Ireland.

Community Relations Council:
The Community Relations Council was formed in January 1990 as an independent company and registered charity. It originated in 1986 as a proposal of a research report commissioned by the NI Standing Advisory Committee on Human Rights. The Community Relations Council was set up to promote better community relations between Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland and, equally, to promote recognition of cultural diversity.

Garfield Weston
Garfield Weston senior was succeeded as chairman of both Associated British Foods and the Garfield Weston Foundation by one of his sons, Garfield Howard Weston (Garry), who in the second half of the 20th century successfully developed the company into a major international organisation and at the same time became one of the UK’s most well regarded philanthropists. During Garry’s time as chairman over nearly twenty-five years the annual donations grew from less than £1 million to over £30 million and he made a positive impact on numerous projects, both large and small, throughout the United Kingdom

The Laing Family:
The family is famous through their association with John Laing plc, a construction company founded in 1848. The company grew under the leadership of Sir John Laing and passed through the hands of his sons Sir Kirby Laing and Sir Maurice Laing. The Laing family is known for its contributions to charity and donated £8.88 million in 2002. The family also lends its name to nine separate foundations.
Henry Smith Charity
The Henry Smith Charity is a large grant making charity. We make grants totalling approximately £25 million each year to up to 1,000 organisations and charities for initiatives and projects that address social inequality and economic disadvantage.

The Rank Foundation
Lord Rank was born in 1888, the son of Joseph Rank, a prominent Yorkshire mill owner. At the age of 17 he joined his father’s flour milling business, in which he was employed throughout the earlier part of his life.
By 1941 he was the dominant figure in British films. Since that time, the company that he founded, The Rank Organisation PLC, has greatly expanded in the fields of leisure, entertainment and technology.

Lord & Lady Lurgan Trust
Lady Lurgan created the Lord and Lady Lurgan Trust by Deed in 1987, three years after the death of her husband. The Trust reflects the interests and lives of both Lord and Lady Lurgan who met through their love of music.

The MAC Robert Trust
The Trust was established by Lady MacRobert in memory of her three sons who were all killed as aviators, the eldest in a civil air accident in 1938 and the middle and youngest as officer pilots in the Royal Air Force on operational sorties in 1941. At the same time, among other things, Lady MacRobert donated £25,000 to the nation to purchase a Stirling bomber which she asked to be named “MacRobert’s Reply”.
