Building has started!

The capital funding is finally secured (see funding agencies...). Six contractors are tendering for the building contract and we aim to start building soon for a grand opening early 2012

After five years of capital funding raising, we secured enough funds to get our new youth & community centre building started.  September 5^th 2011 had MSM contractor moved on site to start building.  The first months were all hard work but little to see as the foundations and pilling were put in place.  January 2012 was a transformation as the building shot up into the skyline.  We are pleased that MSM is supportive of bringing young people down to the site to see the progress being made. 

Primary schools on all sides of the community whom we work with have been visiting the site on special arranged days.  There is great excitement from the young people who cannot wait until they have this new building to attend.  As well as good facilities for running our programmes we are erecting a state of the art indoor climbing wall which will be open to the general public as well as schools and other organisations.   The wall will suit beginner to climbing athlete alike and a lot of interest has already been shown.  We also have well situated ground floor retail space that will benefit from the main flow of customers using Carnegie Street to go between the town and Tesco.  Be sure to check our website regularly to see progress.  We will be up loading new photos monthly.
